We cannot have first-rate schools without first-rate school leadership. This page spotlights school leaders in Ohio who have successfully implemented standards-based education in their schools. These individuals are instructional leaders who are focused on improving school achievement. These leaders have created a collective sense of responsibility for improvement of teaching and learning.

Schools of Promise :

Schools Where Students with Disabilities met or exceeded the 75 percent standard with their students with disabilities on the reading and/or mathematics sections of the Ohio Proficiency Test or the Ohio Graduation Test in 2003-2004.

 

Schools of Distinction

The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) named 21 schools to the first (2004 – 2005) list of Schools of Distinction, celebrating high-achieving schools that have significant numbers of students with disabilities.
